Default Mitered corner plus get idea when adding borders.

This is a good video...I also never thought of sewing together all of my borders first prior to adding to quilt top. Great Idea!!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBVnUE2GMn8

That's how I was taught to sew borders years ago. Sew them together and then only have one time to sew around the whole quilt.

I watched but they make it so complicated. Much easier to join strips as they said except I never join with a straight seam since it leaves to much bulk and gives the eye a path to follow. But once all of your borders are joined mark your centers and pin from the center out. Begin and end sewing 1/4 inch from edges. Sew all four sides then align the corners mark your 45 degree angle for sewing sew then check to make sure everything lies flat and then trim seam.

I started watching the tut, but disagree with them measuring the end of the quilt before putting borders on. What if the ends are wider than the middle? YOu would then have a wonkly quilt. Measure through the middle of the quilt across & up/down. I have always sewn my borders together before attaching on my quilt, specially when I make mitered corners, and I do 95% of the time. So anyway I didn't continue watching the tut.
