Oh, that's a lovely baby quilt - the child's mother is going to LOVE it! The little rag doll is a nice touch, too, to go with it.... Second quilt? You're on your way to some lovely quilts, I can just see it! Great job!

My daughter and this baby's mother have been friends for about 20 years. They are both married now and this is the first baby for either of them. So it is a very exciting time. The baby's mother's mother passed away several years ago, so was not here to see her daughter married or now for the baby. I hope she thinks of me as a second mom. I sure think the world of her.

Oh, it's adorable! I know your daughter's friend and the baby will love it! Feels really good to finish a quilt, doesn't it?

You know.. good things take time. You have done a fabulous job! The prairie points are an awesome finish, your colors are wonderful. After 30+ years, I am still afraid of machine quilting and do everything by hand. (My featherweight gives me so little room to move around.) Your avatar picture makes me think you have plenty of time to learn hand quilting - but why bother when you have done a spectacular job already?!?!?

I would like to learn hand quilting. I've practiced a little and I'm pretty clumsy. I don't think I better try it on a project with a deadline! Maybe just a little lap quilt for myself or whoever, but not as a planned gift.
