Default How do I quilt this?

My Dad's favorite cousin who is 85 yrs old brought me a couple quilts to quilt for her. She said to stipple or do whatever I wanted. One is a simple patchwork quilt, but this one is all hand embroidery. I thought about stipple around the flowers in the background & then maybe some curly-q's in the vases. I am NOT a professional. Any suggestions on how you all might quilt it?

I would outline quilt around the bouquets and vase first. I would then outline inside a little to meet the batt requirement. A smaller stipple would look nice in the background and it would make the embroidered area puff up a bit.

I would texturize the vase, a bit of texturizing (is that a word?) the flowers as well, not much, just enough to add some interest but not cover the embroidery. Where the 4 corners of the blocks meet I would either stipple or some other design in that "block" area. Just my thought. It is a lovely quilt.

I agree with the suggestions - just remember you don't have to be a professional. She wants to get them done and I am sure she will LOVE whatever you decide to do. To her getting them done so that she can snuggle under them, remember and maybe pass them on is what matters. We are normally our worst critics, and I am sure you will do a great job and they will be beautiful.

I think you have great suggestions! I don't have any others but wanted to say it is beautiful embroidery work and she will love whatever you do with it! Good luck!
