    OMG - see about at least getting one of them! They sure don't make them like that anymore. I have been more sorry about things that I did not buy than things that I did buy.

    I'm with everyone else - I have a 2 vintage machines (one a featherweight), and I'm stopping at two - but if a featherweight came up at a reasonable price, I'd get it in a heartbeat. If it's not affordable for you right now, you could consider a swap of some sort - or make a quilt for her.

    sorry,although everyone here says just the opposit...you say you can't afford it right now?
    If you really really can't just don't do it.......IMHO....unless you can swap to get it for free

    Speaking from the experience of a very long life I will tell you that I have often regretted the things I did NOT buy. I'm still kicking myself that I didn't buy the life-sized wooden pygmy for $95.
