It is lovely just like it is, but you could do a brown or black buttonhole stitch around the outside to kind of make your colors pop against the creamy background

Looks beautiful to me. You might try using the wrong side of your background fabrics, that would give you a lighter look.

I think I am going to QAYG and use red or yellow for the sashing so I can make it pretty big. My frame will only hold up to a double. I just can't decide if I like it or not. Would rather have lighter backgrounds but I would have to buy the fabric and and I'm trying not to do that. Any suggestions?

If your background is not a batik it may be lighter on the 'wrong' side. I have done this in the past to get the contrast I wanted.

Is the "other side" of the fabric lighter? If the quilt police are not looking, you can reverse the fabric. As E. Burns says, you pay for both sides.

The block is beautiful & i love the fact that you put the little pictures in there ~ so cute. I agree with the others ~ look at it for a bit ~ go away & come back later & look at it some more & see if you still like it. I like your tan colors, & i am usually more of a fan for white. Good luck!

What size petals are you using for this large dresden plate? I like the idea of large blocks for a quilt.

I have a question about the cross stitched pieces, will those wash as does the rest of the quilt? Great job with your stash; love your work!
