Default Can you help me design a baby quilt around this?

I'm......kinda at a loss. Its for a baby. I want it to have some texture. I don't want a flat quilt. Help! I can't even figure out what other fabrics to go with it...let alone a pattern. Also...its a baby girl.

My first thoughts are to fussy cut the logo design out with the words and see what size that is as a square. Then add some other squares of that blue, cats, and maybe a pinkish orange as a complement -- also maybe some white or black and white print.

ok I see minky fabric and a rag quilt. what a scary quilt for a baby girl. sorry. the minky is so soft rag dimensional could use the fabric on top, minky underneath, um I would add hot pink to well girl it up, bright as that blue is bright.. dont know. I am all about bright or colorful for little ones. I would design say a pillow with that.

I would stick it on the back and use whatever I would like suitable for a baby girl on the front.

Have you thought about using this with a blue or black toile. The toile is very feminine. I think I would fussy cut the 3 main designs then look for coordinating fabrics. Try using the Design wall at fabric.com I find that very helpful when auditioning fabrics. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

IMHO I would never use black in a baby quilt, sorry but black is for adults not babies

Here are some ideas. Hot pink is cute with the blue. And the cat paw are cute. Add some of the colors in flannel and fleece. Chenille would be cute. http://www.fabric.com/DesignWall.asp...3-d08d802e86ce

I wouldn't use it for a baby girl. I like traditional colors. Use this in a quilt for a man or older boy. Just what I think.

That is my opinion as well. I like strong colors for kids, but try to avoid anything that smacks of commercialism. If you really want to use this fabric, you could measure the actual width, divide by 4 and use that measure as the unit size for a large friendship star on a background of any color that pleases you. (if the usable size is 40". cut 10" squares to start your 9" HST units).

You could quilt in panthers on the background.
