I think chain-peicing wrong sides together is a prerequisite! After 4 years of quilting & more years than I care to admit sewing, I STILL do it!? Just part of the game!

My daughter-in-laws mother has a quilt I made for her years ago, displays it in her livingroom. This summer I visited her and she thanked me again for the beautiful quilt. That was the first time I noticed that one side of the binding is on backwards. She was going on about how her friends all love it! I didn't say anything about the binding......let sleeping bindings lay....

This is the point that I would be saying words a lady should not say. Yes, this has happened to me too. Find something on television and get the grim ripper.

Sometimes it seems that I spend more time ripping than sewing. You would think that I enjoy it or something.

I think this is one of the best threads.........of what not to do. Makes me feel good to know others make the same mistakes I make.

Apparently we all have our own quilting horror stories. My binding experience was that I sewed the raw edges to the raw edges of the quilt but I had to fold to the front to hand sew the binding. I couldn't believe that I had that. Didn't look too bad.
