If anyone is interested--the Midwest Fiber Fair is only 30 miles from the quilt show, the same weekend. I am driving to the quilt show 1st, then on to the fiber show. I am glad they came back to Rosemont. This way I am only spending the gas $$ once instead of 2 days of driving. The fiber show is awesome if you are into knitting/weaving/etc. I never took classes so I won't miss that part. I love looking at all of the beautiful fabrics, patterns (not that I need anymore) and the newest tools. Can't wait to go. Susan

I went to the one in Schaumburg in 2011 with a friend and we stayed in a hotel. We LOVED when it came to Tinley Park, so I am only about 10 minutes away in Orland Park. Can't wait till November when it comes again.

I'm headed out to Cincy. Daughter lives there and I told her she had to spend one whole day with me. Sewing is not her thing...can't sew a button. Played basketball since fourth grade and played at UC. Still playing ball with other women....still has not learned to sew...She has no idea what she's in for. Can't wait. Will head to Chicago in June with several quilting buddies from home. Looking forward to the coming months.

Sandy,
There are plenty of seats available for some of your older members. Also available for rental are wheelchairs or motorized carts. I think the info is on the website.
Parking is expensive, $13 per car and it is across the street from the site. It is a bg parking garage...not sure if they can handle large vehicles. There is a nice drop-off area at the site.

Food....VERY PRICEY....I usually bring a sandwich and a bottle of water. Bottle of water is $3.00, hot dog is $5. Best deal is the ice cream cone...$2.50(?). I would recommend going to the cafeteria if you don't bring food...still a bit pricey but better food.

The vendor area...WONDERFUL!!! I spend way toooooo much!

Thanks Tink!

I have contacted Rosemont about the seating and below was the advice....

"The parking is $13.00 daily and is located across the street. We are connected by sky bridge, so they can either walk across or we do offer shuttle service located at the entrance level by the handicap parking area. There will be sporadic seating areas but due to attendance it might be difficult to find seating. May I suggest if they have portable seated walkers, to bring them? This I think would help significantly with that and a bag/basket attached so that they can move easier throughout the show areas."

Also....."Parking costs during the quilt show are $13.00 in the general parking garage that will accommodate either the regular passenger vehicle and the 14 passenger van. As far as the bus is concerned, it will not fit in the parking garage due to size. We would be able to park it at the RES Marshalling Yard located 9300 Williams St., Rosemont, IL 60018. There is no charge for it, but the driver will have to drop off at the main entrance and then park."

Fortunately, we don't have anyone who may require a scooter but you never know. I will look for the rental pricing just in case. Thanks!!
Sandy
