I'm going to do some shopping once I get my name. Oddly enough, i'm NOT happy about the sales. My favorite LQS that has been there since before I was born is closing, as are 4 other quilt shops in the St Louis area. Very Sad about Patches!

I hope we don't have any people on here signing up this month that don't intend to ever send a package. The vast majority of us are great swappers but every now and then we get some stinkers, usually people we don't know.

I totally agree Faye! Don't understand why people sign up and never follow through. I know life can sometimes get in the way and make you late, but to never send I don't understand that!

I did not see it. He then did some test having him stand with his eyes closed and he could not stand up right. He swayed like a tree in the wind. The could not march in place with his eyes closed. When the doctor did sould tests, Adam could not hear well on the left side. He asked me to go in his office and make an appointment with his doctor. We went the next day.

My son had an acoustic neuorma on the auditory nerve running from his left ear to his brain. He has been having headaches for three months and an upset stomach. Never did I relate the two to having vertigo. Adam said he was dizzy when he gets up but he hears people talking about being off balance. I told him that is at 65 not 15. Please pray for my boy. We see the head and neck surgery unit on Thursday. I have been told our options are radiation (maybe) or surgry. The surgry is 12 hours long and he will be in the hospital for a week and it will take two months to recuperate. He will have no hearing in his left year. I do not want this for my son.

Okay, enough about me. Just trying to come to grips with this.
I will say a special prayer for you and your family tonight. Stay strong.

Pure and simple, as far as I'm concerned, they want something for free and it's easy. I'd rather they just post and say times are tough, I need some help , then I just send them a package and feel really good about doing it.

Have4sons, you are in my prayers.

Hope everyone is doing well during the wild weather. Last night our neighborhood was hit by one of the tornadoes that came through Tennessee. Everyone is okay. Here at our house, we just had things blown around and power off. Powerlines and a powerpole was down on our street. The subdivision that is accross the highway lost a few roofs. The most damage was done to the gas station that is at the corner of the hwy and our street. The roof was pealed back. Luckily, it happened at 3 in the morning and no one was there yet. The wind is still extremely high and it has started sleeting.

    Praying for you all.

Please let's not start this again "people we don't know" and labeling them as deadbeats until they prove themselves as such. I experienced this on another swap recently being labeled as perhaps a deadbeat because a gal did not recognize me as being an avid swapper when I still had 19 days to send in my swap.

It is painful and hurtful to read that folks think newbies are deadbeats before they are given a chance to prove themselves and funny thing is I'm not a newbie and have been on here for 2 years although I don't join every swap there is.

Put yourself in a newbies place and think how you'd feel if others made the same claim you just did about them regarding you. How would you feel than being told that you don't trust them to fulfill there obligation just because they are a newbie.

I have seen some being on here more years than I have who don't always follow through or if they do a month or two after the fact you don't see "newbies" pointing a finger at them in a public forum.

We need to be more sensitive about such issues and not point fingers at any one person or group of individuals without just cause to do so.

If someone does not follow through simply contact them via a PM and ask if they are doing well and/or contact the moderator of the swap and see if they can find out for you.
