    I, too, think it is perfect the way it is. I like to have something pop out at me when I make a quilt. I think it is an awesome quilt.

    If you're trying to make the red "recede" I wouldn't put a light coloured thread on it as this would draw more attention to it, IMHO. Either quilt it in red & bring red out into the border as well, or perhaps quilt it in the darker sash colour.

    I really like it so much, I don't advice you to change this much. Someone suggested blue thread for the quilting, I think that may enhance this lovely quilt.

    Your quilt is beautiful. What a great job you did piecing it! do you have some left over blocks you could audition some threads on?
