I have the Olfa rotating mat and have been disappointed that it hasn't held up as well as my bigger Olfa mats, even though it gets far less use.

I have one of the original Olfa turntables. I've had it for at least 15 years. They still carry it here:

It is a heavy, sturdy turntable with ball bearings. Not cheap, plus you need to buy the mat, but it is much sturdier and easier to turn than the current olfa/fiskars versions. If the mat ever wears out, you just replace it.

I have the Olfa 12" and 17" and although I use them a lot, they don't show any signs of wear yet. I'm so surprised! I really like them - especially the 17" one.

I never could really see the sense of a special rotating mat. I have a separate 12" X 18" Olfa mat that I lay on top of my cutting table mat and just turn it if I need to. Simple.

Thanks for the replies. I purchased the Olfa. Will be using it on my next quilt project.
