Default My SIL hinted very strongly for a quilt- here's the top I made.....

So I recently made my MIL a Carpenter's Star out of fabrics that I wasn't crazy about. My MIL wrote me a beautiful thank you for it- she loves it! I knew she would. Then last week I get an email from my SIL saying how much her mom loves her quilt and that all she herself had to use to stay warm was her electric blanket! Haha! Does that sound like a hint to you??? Here's the thing- don't want to make one for their bed- don't even know what size bed they have, plus just don't want to. :-/ So, I decided to make one she could wrap up in on the couch while watching TV. Their LR is very color neutral- white walls with huge tan couch. So, here's what I did. It's a turning twenty using up a collection of fat quarters from Connecting Threads that I bought a long time ago, and then a few others thrown in from a trip to Iowa to Fons & Porters store. They have a family of 6 & she is the only female! So I tried to not make it too feminine nor masculine. I think it'll make them all happy and add a splash of color without being too wild in their otherwise tame LR.
I'm having a VQD with a friend of mine in California on Monday so should get it quilted then. We each have a project, synchronize our Netflix and watch a movie together, stopping to text brief messages about the movie, our projects, etc. It is a lot of fun since we don't see each other very often.

I really like it. Not too girly and yet not manly enough for the guys to claim it.
I am sure she will love it. Your a good SIL

I love the colours in your quilt! If she decides to refuse it, I will be more than happy to look after it for you on a permanent basis for free! It is a beautiful quilt and I am sure I will have to wait an awfully long time, for it to grace my palms. Thank you for sharing.
