Either this gentleman knew the quilts were going to a really good home, or he had no idea the work and talent that went into making these quilts. The 2 applique the kittys in the basket and the roosters look like the 30's to me. The green star looks like cross stitch. You have double wedding ring quilt or quilts, and radiant star quilts. (I have never attempted those!) All those seams coming together in one place, and they are flat quilts! He had star quality workmanship on those, especially when you consider they were probably hand pieced, not paper pieced.

What a wonderful slice of history you have.

You sure did get a bargain. I love the wedding ring quilts. They look like they are pieced perfectly. You are one lucky lady!!

treasures to be sure. someone either did a ton of quilting, or no one used them after they were made! of course, yrs ago, they were under a bedspread, so not needed much washing.

Oh, my word! He didn't know what he was doing?!!!! You hit the mother load. If I were you I'd do up one & give to him. Does he have any kids or grandkids to pass these down too?

While you did indeed score, I think the great thing is that they are with someone who can appreciate them. I think the creators will be most pleased.
