Muslin As Quilt Backing?

I seen a quilt at our church's Quilting group, the back and front was made with solid muslin, a quilting design was drawn on the front and then the group quilted it. It made a beatuiful quilt and was sold for a church building fund event for $750.00.

God knows people do use it. That's why He saved it for you!

I use muslin all the time - I love the old school feel of it. Also I want to offer my condolences for your losses due to Hurricane Sandy. I live on Long Island's south shore and we luckily escaped any major damages. I'm sure our QB friends will keep you in their prayers as you rebuild what was lost.

Saw this posting maybe someone has already mentioned it as I haven't read all the postings on this thread, but the maker said the backing is muslin.
