My First Quilt
After looking through my back issues of quilting mags, I thought this one would be a good first project;

I went by the fabric store and picked up some fat quarters.....which I realized would only give me 1-2 squares when I need up to 8 for some...guess I'll be going shopping again.
Anyways, here are the quarters I did pick up;

Your FQs are pretty. I wonder, though, whether the pattern you've selected is FQ-friendly (in other words, is there a lot of waste when using FQ's for it)? I can't tell from the picture. The other thing to consider is that the description says it's for a confident beginner. In quilt-speak, that usually means it's not recommended for your first quilt, unless you're already an accomplished seamstress. I don't want to discourage you - far, far from it - but (without knowing what your skill level is, or whether you have access to friends who can help and encourage you) I would recommend a pattern that's made up of squares and rectangles to start with. Yellow Brick Road (YBR) is a good choice. Whatever you make, please show us when it's done! And welcome to the quilting community.

This is going to be really cool. Love your bright choices in fabric. Very fresh and fun.
I want to add that I also made this pattern to use up some of my stash. I added sashing and corners to mine just to use up fabric. This is a quick and fun pattern to do. Works up fast into a big quilt. Here is a view of mine. Still needs quilting.
