I am trying to decide whether to laugh or cry
#11
When my grandson was about 3 or so, I had to make one of those long bathroom visits. Well, the little tyke got hungry. So he opened a box of cherrios and dumped them on the living room carpet. Then he got a gallon of milk and poured a good bunch in the middle of the cereal. When I walked into the living room he had a carton of eggs in his hand.
No other choice. I had to laugh. I think it's illegal to kill a hungry kid.

re: longarm rulers for straight lines.....I went to my local window replacement/repair shop, but I understand the box type store do it do....that is to cut a "ruler" out of 1/4" plexiglass as long or short as you want. Mine is about 12" long, the width of an old fashioned yardstick and I have scored lines in it.....have used it for more than 10yrs now.......

I once sneezed at an auction and bought a bushel basket with a bunch of odd dishes in it for a quarter. The auctioneer thought it was really funny and he insisted that I take my purchase. When I got home I sorted through the junk and found a wonderful glass blown paperweight in the bottom which I still have to this day. It is a great memory. I figured I had the last laugh, er...sneeze!

Laugh - always! When a thing is done, you might as well have the best attitude you can about it.
As for straight line quilting, I think we all fret too much over it. Perfection comes from machines. Our little imperfections (if you even want to call them that!) are what makes our quilts so beautiful, homey and special. Too much perfection in a quilt doesn't move me. It's the little flaws that warm me right up to a quilt!

Husby has a very sharp high-pitched cough. I can't tell you the number of times he used to wake up the kids just as I got them to sleep! When they were babies, I would nurse them in the recliner and they'd fall asleep, then the "seal" coughed and they's start crying. LOL

My dd is under a huge amount of stress that is making her jumpy.
Last night while she was at her computer and I was at another one behind her, I had forgotten to turn down the volume and clicked on Spider Solitaire.
The cards sounded like a machine gun and she jumped and turned and said, "What the h*ll?" all at the same time.
Sometimes I laugh so hard the tears run down my legs
