Nice quilt! It would be nice to add another label (for posterity in the family) that identifies the special pieces that you remember and when your grandchildren are sharing with their children they can tell the story of the quilt. You could take a picture of the quilt, print on fabric - denote the fabric and fold and store under the label or in another quilt envelope.

That is awesome, but now you need to preserve those memories for the next generation. I know you have told the stories, but they will be forgotten. Why not write them down, and take photos of the quilt showing which fabric was grandma's dress...which was grandpa's uniform, etc.? Don't let those stories get lost.

This is so neat. My first quilt was a scary made from left overs from clothes I made over the years. my kids /grand kids love to look at it ask names for what fabric was for what.. good job thanks for sharing.

it is beautiful and great idea... my parents are both still with me they are 84 and almost 86 i am very fortunate i will get some fabric from things that mean alot to them and make them a memory quilt.. such a great idea... of course i wasnt as smart as you and didnt save to make it really memorable... great idea once again
