You can get on the Internet with Kindle Fire but the screen is small. You can also read and check e-mail. I don't know how to help you with your decision.

I have a tv in my sewing room. Not sure what I would do in there with a nook or kindle at least not while I was sewing. The TV shows reruns of shows I have seen to keep me company. That way I can concentrate on what I am doing and don't get sidetracked by the show.

TV! Love mine in the sewing room. Hands free, can put in DVD and be in your own little world.

I love reading on my Nook, but I wouldn't give up my sewing room TV.

I also used an IPad.....LOVE IT. You can sit it beside the sewing machine and watch Missouri Star and all the videos Jenny makes and work along step by step.. It is almost like being in a workshop. It it also great for books (lots of free ones out there that you can down load.)

Not sure what the problem is with those who have talked about the Nook, I have one and really like it and have not had any problems with it. I use mine everyday and read on the average 2 books a week. You can use it on the internet and play movies/music you download. I think if you want something for use in your sewing room go for the TV.

I would get the tv. Save your money and eventually get a tablet if you are into reading as you can download bothe the nook and kindle apps on a tablet.
