I just reread a few posts. I have a dumb question: Are you quilting your quilt to give or are you having it done by a professional? I was going to quit it myself but if everyone is having fancy quilting done I can have it quilted also. I do not want my partner to feel short changed now the worry has set it. I have every block but one done. All the subcomponents finished just need the corner squares and I am putting it all together. Yahooo!!!! please everyone can you give me an answer on your quilting here?

It is strange how it is working out for my partner and me. I had thought about doing machine quilting and my partner said that she hoped I didn't mind cuz she wants to make her first attempt at fmq. I think it is awesome that we both had that idea. I have access to a LA machine, but I want to do it on my Janome 11000. Hope that helps you out a little bit.

As the excited recipient, I hope you will do the quilting yourself. I relied heavily on SITD to quilt your quilt, but it suits the pattern and I hope you will feel the hugs and good thoughts that went into the effort at quilting it for you. So worry not, fair Linda, and have fun putting my quilt together! All the hints sound wonderful, and tell your DH to back off! Hugs, Miriam

Being the recipient last year of both, I truly enjoy the fact that each put their thought into how the quilt should be done. Since twinrivers loves that personal touch, go for it.

I must be the slowest on this swap this year. I am still working on the fabrics. I have a bunch laid out and a plan, but have not gotten any further yet. be sure to be reporting into Jillaine.

got those 8 corrected blocks appliqued--half done with corrections. couple more days of getting past the blahs and I might actually get this quilt on the frame. Especially since i finally finished quilting that birthday gift--just need to do the binding and that one will be off in the mail. I have sort of determined how I am going to quilt this one so I am ahead of the game there--just as soon as i finish the rest of the corrections, i can get them appliqued and get the blocks sewn together with the setting triangles. Hopefully the quilting will go faster than the actual sewing has.

How is everybody doing? I have been absent for a while. I've got distracted and started quilting a twin size quilt that I put together on a mystery super bowl get together with the quilt guild. Today though, I finished fusing the last 4 applique blocks that conclude my center. I only have to blanket stitch them and that will get the center completed. This weekend we have our annual quilt show so not a lot of quilting for me.
Elisabrat, you were asking if we are quilting or sending it out to be quilted. I will be quilting it myself. I don't do elaborated work but continue to try.
My goal is to finish the center this month and work on the boarders.

I have never "quilted" a quilt top. My mother has a LA so I just send them to her and she does them up. I am thinking I will try my hand at the LA at her house....ekkkk

Melinda! you will not believe what has been going on, My Daughter moved to Tacoma, I tried calling you the day I helped her move but my cell phone was acting up. But I want to get together with you and /or your Mom, I have some work that needs to get done. Falling behind on everything with all this stuff going on with my Mom. Her health is doing a lot better, but now we are planning her 80th birthday party. I will be going to Tucoma next week, we really need to get together! Since I am "neighbors" with your mom and you with my daughter! how fun is that! I will call you when I am in town, we really gotta meet! LOL

And yes it is almost 5:00 am and no I have not been to bed yet! I gotta get this little project finished! I hate falling behind!

It just occurred to me as well, Tacoma is only a 4.5hour drive from my house. We usually stay at my MIL who lives in Tacoma or my DH Sister who lives in Puyllup. Small country after all. I am hoping to be going over to Bothel shortly for back surgery, would be great to be able to visit with you as well.
