What an amazing first quilt. I'm glad that you encouraged her, helping her find her favorite batik fabrics and most of all not telling her what she "cannot" do, and letting her go for it. When I first started to quilt I had no "point of reference" so to speak, my Mother had passed away and I had no one to teach me , but I also had no one to tell me what I could or couldn't do. Did I make mistakes - yes, did I learn a lot - absolutely. You should be very proud of your daughter and proud of yourself for letting her take an idea and run with it. She did an awesome job with her very first quilt.

So awesome! Did that great result ignite a spark? Will you have a new quilting buddy in your daughter? That would be such a blessing for both of you!

Good for her. She did a great job, and it appears she has a quilting future ahead.

That is so amazing at her age. What a beautiful quilt and a gorgeous young lady. I must show my grandaughter this article for inspiration. Hooray for her and for your encouragement .....
