    Default Hi Everyone!

Well it appears the "Lake Effect" snow coming off of Lake Erie doesn't understand where the "East" side of Cleveland is! lol!! For those who know NE Ohio you understand that us Westsiders should not be getting all this snow today! Lucky for me I am working from home today so I just have to look out the window .... now that my day is done I can start my weekend a day early!! After Judy mentioned her concern with using larger print fabrics I opted for another color choice.... just finished the 4" adjustment last night so this is what I have going on...

Love all the pics being posted... am beginning to think I'm a slacker just doing one table runner.... may have to go down into my stash and play around to see what I can come up with!

For all those with Windows 8 and Microsoft 2010. This is how I edit photos on DH lap top. Right click on the photo you want to edit. Open with. (Microsoft word) I know you don't usually use a word program to edit a picture but it works. You should get a bar at the top that has a (Edit Pictures) block or button my icon looks like a mountain with a circle and a pencil. Once I click that, a bar pops open on the right side of my screen. You should have 7 options the two I use are crop if I want to get rid of some background or Compress Picture. Resize will work but its not as fast. I click (compress photo). It will give me a few options the one I use is Web pages, it makes it small enough in one click. If I don't want to replace my original one I rename it and then get out of the program. I tell it I don't want to save any changes if I rename. If you do save changes, it changes the original file. If you don't care just hit save.

I hope this helps. I have gotten used to finding out how to work around what Microsoft changes. Most of the old stuff is still there in there programs but you just have to find it. Let me know if this helps. There is some nice fresh bread in the club car.

Sorry I was informed by my Husband that he has Windows 7 not 8 but the links should work for 8 also. All I know is that his computer does not look like my Windows XP.

Don't you just hate it when the "new and improved" is really new and screwed up horribly!

None of the old HP programs for the pix were compatible, and I even had the Geek Squad trying Canon's ImageBrowser and Microsoft's Silverlight. Then they downloaded Picasa 3 and it is a dream. Now I have figured out how to crop and to reduce the pixels which was my main problem. Love this program. Never used it before because the old HP's photo edit program was a snap and so easy and great to work with. I understand it is a free download. My stress has subsided, I feel normal again .... at least until the next Win 8 screw up occurs. Boy, they did not work through all the issues before releasing did they?

My cataract surgery was so great. I was paranoid about anyone messing with my eye, but with DH putting in my drops every day (he hated it because I whined), it went fine. Glad yours is doing well.

Judy, I did a search for resizing images in windows 8 and got a lot of hits. Check this one out as it seems to be the most logical one. I ususally resize to 640 x 480 as this seems to work but I am using windows 7. Good luck.
