I have used both Coates and Clark, and Guterman. Have also used some other threads not necessarily meant for hand quilting, and then I use "Thread Heaven" to run them through before using them for quilting. (Like that better than beeswax).

My choice also. I put conditioner on it and it doesn't knot. I'm waiting for them to come out with more colors!

    For hand quilting I use:
YLI hand quilting thread. - comes glazed
Gutterman cotton hand quilting thread. - comes glazed
Americana quilting thread - comes glazed
Mettler 40 wt. - wax first each time I cut a length

For Big Stitch hand quilting I use:
Sulky cotton in 30 wt. - LOTS of colors including blends
Perle cotton balls #8 or #12
    #10 wt. crochet cotton thread

I, too, love this thread. I've only tried a few threads, but this one stands out, as far as I'm concerned!

I also use YLI for the same reasons mentioned plus it's 3-ply, is 100% extra long staple egyptian cotton, has excellent color fastness, and is made in the US. The 26 colors it comes in is enough of a choice for me, so I haven't found that to be a problem.
