Default Hours on a Bernina Sewing Machine

Does anyone know how to find out how many hours are on a Bernina 440QE? I know how to find the total number of stitches, but not the hours. Is there a way?

I think only the service tech can see that.

I don't even know what hours on a sewing machine would mean. The number of hours it's turned on? The number of hours the motor is running? But if the motor is running, doesn't that mean the machine is stitching? So isn't the stitch count a more accurate measure of how much use the machine has had?

Have to agree with Dunster on this. My machine can be on all day but not stitching.

I didn't know there was a stitch count available. I have a B Artista 170. Can I get that info on this machine? How?
    Curious!

I have a Bernina and attend most of the Bernina club meeting my LQS holds and I've never heard of "hours" the machine ran, but I have heard of the number of stitches. That is something the service tech would have to look up for you. My Bernina counts the stitches but it doesn't tell me how many - it just shows me the icon saying it needs service. If you own a Bernina or are thinking of buying one, ask them at the Bernina store.

I don't know how to find it but when I got my machine and had it looked over they told me how many hours the machine had been on, how many hours of actual sewing and how much time was used with the embroidery unit. My machine was on a lot more than actual sewing and was hardly used and not used at all in embroidery mode.

Can you call a dealer and ask? I know there is a way to determine stitch count and hours turned on, but I can't find the procedure I used when I looked up mine.

I had a Brother Embroidery and sewing machine and, yes. there is a stitch count on the computerized ones. There is a screen in the utility section to press and it will tell you how many hours and what the stitch count is. I don't know if it meant how long the machine sat "on" or if it just meant how long you stitched. The stitch count added the sewing and embroidery stitches and if the count was relatively low, one would know if the machine was used a lot, which was fine for someone who was maybe buying it second hand. I sold mine. I also had a Babylock that did the same thing.
