It has that vintage look that no modern designer could possibly duplicate. You go, go, go! What you will have is a work that reflects both your efforts and our quilting heritage.

Your blocks are wonderful. I really like the green. The sashing seems too "busy" for the blocks as everyone else have said. Black or cream would set off the blocks instead of detracting from them. Show us what you decide.

Have you tried piecing the blocks together side by side, maybe 4 together & then "frame" with the sashing, possible a smaller width? I think the movement in the blocks would be awesome if it flowed more from block to block. Your piecing is wonderfully done. Or you might want to follow some of the other suggestions for the sashing and use the red print as a cornerstone between blocks.

I like the big blocks but the sashing is fighting with the blocks! The curves do look great.
I suggest using one of the colors that also appears in the blocks such as is that black or dark brown or navy I see? I'd use that dark color and then yellow fabric as a thin border after the dark fabric.

I like the idea of a red sashing!

I agree with Nammie to 7, the sashing is way too busy for the blocks. I would choose a solid color to highlight the blocks, use the busy sashing material for the back. Show us what you decide. Happy Easter.

Here's what I come up with ! Your posts were just what I needed to get me out of the " this THING is so ugly it's good only for the trash can!!"mode. My daughter walked by just a minute ago with " oh, I love it" Mom" , that was enough for me to hear!! I too am much happier with the THING! Thanks so much for all your advice!!!

mom - Love what you've done with the sashing. It really makes the green POP. However, I think I'd move the left-hand block to the bottom and the bottom to the left, that way the top and bottom blocks would match and the left and right blocks would match. As you can tell I prefer symmetry.

I love what you've done too and I would go with michelleoc's suggestion to move the left block to the bottom. I too like symmetry
