What is wrong with it? should I just take the borders off and bind it and call it a lap quilt? Or keep searching for more solid maroon to make the borders? Or, do you think it is okay as is?
I like it. It blends well and looks good.

I agree with Sarah in Brooklyn. I think the flowered border just doesn't fit the more modern aspect of your Drunkard's path fabric.

I agree the boarder dosen't do anything for the quilt. Keep looking. Love your drunkard path blocks.

at first glance all i see is the center, pick another fabric with small areas of white in the background, i believe you will like it a lot better. Love the center blocks!

I think a narrow border of white before the larger border would set off the drunkards path and then the floral border would tie in better.

I am certainly no expert, but I agree that the border needs to be a solid that presents more of a flow of the blocks into the boder. However the pioneer ladies had to use what they had on hand and I think we have become a generation that needs to learn that also. If you really hate it, then do the work of replacing the border. Otherwise just remember the fun you had making the blocks and know that this quilt can be used and loved.

I understand what you're saying. The main part of the quilt looks modern and the floral border seems to remind me of civil war fabric.
