I am definitely going to take the needle out and look at it with a magnifying glass to try to determine what kind and size it is. And thanks for the 30 day return policy, didn't know that either.

    Thanks for the information.

Connecting Thread Pro on the cone is 70wt. Superior Bottom Line is 60wt Aurifil bobbin thread comes in 60wt and 80 wt. Most name brands of thread has a 60wt or higher thin thread. I use Titanium coated Organ topstitch needles size 80/12 for piecing as I use thin thread in top and bottom. If I use 50wt 3 ply in top and bobbin I use a size 90/14. Connecting Thread Essential is 50 wt 3 ply. I have large cones of 100 wt and 80 wt bought from a commercial embroiderer bankrupt sale some years ago. The Aurifil 80 wt cone is 18,500 yards. I'll never run out of bobbin thread so I don't shop for it to know all the new ones available.

Thanks so much for your info! I have been searching for an affordable 3160 and wasn't sure if this one was it. The only thing I am wondering though is does the extended table come with it? If not can you get it somewhere else?

Yes, the 3160 does come with extended table at no extra charge, however, the one through HSN does not come with one.

You might want to consider getting the 3160 anyway, because the local dealer will give you free lessons, as well as any support that you might need, which HSN obviously can't give.

    Good luck!
