Very cute. I've never seen one done either. Thank you for posting.

How does the cotton work when wet? I have two older bath mats from the boys' bathroom that both have holes in the middle (don't ask me how- it's the BOY'S bathroom!). I considered covering like you have and quilting. Are you happy with it? BTW it looks great.

I just used a new hand towel and an old thin towel and regular cotton. I was surprised at the cotton and the drying. It works great. The one I saw said they used old towels, but I wanted to try the new first. Next time I think I will not use the old towel, just the new one. Again the one I saw did use quilting. I also sewed quilting several times after pic was taken to hold it together better.

Did you know my Aunt? She used to do that. The woman never threw anything away. She made bathmats and rugs out of old towels and pillow cases. And yes for some reason they were always worn in the middle. She also would sew a big X or Cross to keep everything from shifting.

Love it. Very cool idea. I have directions to make one bookmarked somewhere.

Like this a lot - a person could make their own shower curtain and matching bath mat!
