THANK YOU ALL for your special thoughts regarding mom.
I am doing ok. It was a LONG and tiring day yesterday because
my sister in law and I had appointments (pre-arranged) to visit
and do walk through on several skilled nursing facilities because
my moms health has gone beyond the level of care that the current
assisted living home they (both parents) are living in.
She has an Hiatal hernia and due to her age of 84 (85 in July), they
won't due surgery on her. Not counting that she had a stroke just a
couple days after the hernia diagnosis (2 years ago in June).
It is because of that hernia that she has basically stopped eating and
drinking only intaking about 10-20% of a daily requirement. Hence
the reason she got so drastically dehydrated that she want taken to
the hospital.
It is because of that they could not get an I.V. into her, after approx.
12 failed attempts (even by a Flight for Life nurse) they decided that
the last resort was to run a central line into her chest.
She LOOKED much better yesterday, but still only thing she is doing
issleeping.
Now back on topic:
I finished the needle case last night, all I need to do is take
pictures of it.
As for the pin cushion I am about 1/3 finished, but should be
able to get it done today or tomorrow.

Just a little update.
We have been talking about putting my mom into a skilled nursing
facility, but after talking with the Doctor today, she will be going into
hospice, he said with her dementia basically telling her body she doesn't
need to eat or drink it is in the process of shutting down.
This is NOT something we want to hear, but we also DON'T want her
to suffer anymore.
I will try to get my pincushion and needle case in the mail A.S.A.P.

I received my package from swap partner today and she outdid herself. What a treasure trove of goodies I received. The needlecase is fabulous and what a neat idea to use a pony tail holder elastic as the tie to go 'round the button. Inside was a 'Jack' seam ripper, which I can always use another one of. Some tiny scissors, package of needles and needle threaders(I was down to my last one), a notepad and pens and a gorgeous piece of butterfly fabric. What a great swapper. Thanks MarLeClair..you are the best!!!
