OK, several people have asked questions so I will do my best to answer them. I don't quilt every day but when I do quilt, it's anywhere from 1 hour to 8 hours for the day. Almost all of the quilts I do are fairly simple ones and usually I SITD to finish them and then machine bind. And a couple I just had to assemble, the blocks were already sewn. Now for the patterns--
the first quilt was one I just assemble the quilt. Someone had the blocks already done (it's a charity quilt for church). I believe they sewed strip sets then cut them. It's a queen sized quilt and I didn't finish it, just pieced the top.
The second quilt was a Christmas layer cake, I just sewed the squares together, then quilted diagonally through the corners. I like minimal quilting when I'm doing it!
The third quilt had the blocks assembled and I just sewed the top together. They're just squares, and then squares within a square.
The fourth quilt, I took a couple charm packs, sewed together 4 patches, then threw in a few squares to break up the 4 patches. To finish, just diagonal quilting through the corners.
The fifth quilt was done using fat quarters. I cut them into 5x8.5 inch (I think!) pieces and sewed 6 together. Then just assembled and found a cute border.
The sixth is a paper pieced Mariner's Compass. My first attempt at paper piecing and not done very well! But I learned from my mistakes, and that's what I consider important.
The seventh is a layer cake. It's a variation on the double slice layer cake pattern. I messed up and cut the layer cakes in half for the first cut. So then I just mixed up the pieces and sewed various halves together. Then I varied the next cut--some I cut at 2.5 inches, some at 5, some at 3.5. Just mixed it all up and made squares and reassembled. Lots of fun and so easy.
The last one I took some square blocks and alternated with blocks I made from another pattern, can't remember which one. If someone really wants to know the pattern, pm me and I'll look it up.
Thanks for looking and for all the compliments!
