How about a very useful 12" long by 3"or4" wide ruler made to use with a hopping foot? Not a lot of peeps already have them that have long arms but they are very useful for guiding along ditches or other straight edges and small enough to be easily handled.

When I first read the thread immediately I thought make her a special pin cushion and then of course a lot of others had that same idea. You know it has to be a good idea since so many of us suggested it. I love my pin cushions and the ones that friends have given me are so special.

I thank a gift card for fabric or a hanging flower basket. They are both very nice.

I made a baby quilt for a dear friend's new baby and she sent me some of the best chocolate covered strawberries and cherries I ever tasted. The place is called Shari's Berries out of California.

I rec.'d a scissor holder from an ex sister inlaw once, and loved it. It was made from a plain cream colored quilted potholder, and lace trimmed in my favorite color orchid with orchid buttons sewn on. I have used it for years.
