One half sewn together after about 2.5 hours work. Lots of careful pinning, pressing seams open, and starching with a pressing cloth. Really should be done with the center today. Looking forward to getting the other border pieces done.

Wow that is really beautiful. I have been eyeing her patterns for some time. I have Judy Neimeyers Mariners Compass for and hope to start on it this summer. I am curious did you take any kind of class. Someone told me I should take a class in her method of paper piecing first. I am a pretty accomplished paper piecer. Do I need a class or just dive right in?

It's gorgeous, even though you say there is more to the quilt - it will be so fabulous when it's finished. Great job.
