Hey luv - As well you should be!! You look like a terrific bunch!! I too am sorry about your grandma. We were just talking tonight about how special grandparents are. I'm thrilled beyond words that my kids are so close to their grandparents and that they see each other often (we live about 8 miles apart). It's great for them!!

I couldn't resist doing one more.....

and I must admit, I'm thrilled with how it came out. I pieced the block normally (rotary cut the pieces then sewed them together) and it came out perfectly.

Then I appliqued the diamonds (which are not quite as diamondly as I'd hoped, but never mind!)

I believe that our beloved family members watch us all the time. They are our gardian angels. :)

BlueChicken your block is stunning. Talk about right on point and without paper piecing. I haven't look at the DJ since I finished the swap. I have to clean my plate before January so the DJ will have my full attention. The work done by memebers of this board is such inspirtation for me. It certainly gives me something to aim for.

Love the colors - notice how fond Miss Jane was of appliqueing diamonds and leaves (mandorlas/pointed ovals) to her blocks for embellishments?

It was almost like she couldn't stand to have big empty spaces after she did the "first" one in an apparent series.
