All the quilt bloggers that have used this brand say the blades stay sharp much longer then the regular quilting blades.

Looks industrial all right. No blade can long withstand clipping the acrylic ruler though
A blade is only as good as it's user...

If you can't drive straight ... no matter the brand, it will not stay sharp!

Looks like it would be worth a try, at JoAnns they now have the blades in a case. Maybe they had grown feet and walked off because of their price.

At one of the Hancocks I went to, same thing, and the manager said they were indeed being stolen.

My question is, how many manufacturers are there of rotary cutting blades? Are they all made in one or two plants with different specs? I have googled to try and find out. So far, no luck.

Also ..... most stores now keep sharps (rotary blades, scissors etc.) behind counter or in locked cabinets because they are SHARP ... and dangerous!

Lee valley is a Canadian company, and as far as I know you can only purchase their products at their own stores or online. But their products are A~one. I'm going to try this rotary cutter myself. I like their stitch rippers.
