Yes, it's better & I would do the same thing. I hate light coloured thread showing on dark fabric & vice versa. You go girl !!! If you are crazy, then there will be lots of us in that line-up!

I don't want to admit to the number of times I have used pigma pens (in various colors) to hide stitching!

Looks good to me and whatever works! As long as it doesn't bleed through to the back (unless the back is black) but shouldn't. would love to see the rest of the quilt.
