Should I actually use my quilts?

I have a few full size quilts I have made and they are in the linen closet. I was sorting closets yesterday and thought I should be using them. Every time I put them out on a bed I get stressed thinking what if someone spills something on them, or if they fade when washed. Does anyone else have this phobia?

Absolutely. What are they for if not to use? What struck home for me was when we cleaned out my grandmother's bedroom and she had so many things she had saved for "good." It just doesn't made sense not to use them so you can enjoy them during your lifetime. The same thing goes for the "good china."

I had that feeling when first started quilting. Then I decided they might as well be used and enjoyed as to be put away and no one ever see them nor enjoy them. I had shown our 3 granddaughters some quilts recently, one of which was a family picture quilt for my DH's 75th birthday. The youngest g.daughter grabbed a crayon from somewhere and colored on one of the pictures. I am still working on getting the crayon out without ruining the picture! if that doesn't happen, I will just laugh it off and that will be part of the "enjoying the quilt!"Mariah
