Very nice. Looks very homely. No wonder you nearly lost it to your son. He has good taste at least. Who wouldn't like it? The pale border helps make the variety of colours stand out more. A good choice with the blue.

Re: your comment about your 18-yr-old GS coming to his senses. I worked very hard on a "controlled scrappy" quilt (Jacob's Ladder) for our 18yo GS for his HS graduation. He watched the process (because I knew it would not be done in time for graduation and I wanted him to see that he was actually getting a nice gift) and became very excited each time he saw the progress. Six months later when I handed him that quilt, he embraced it, thanked me "a million times" and then announced that he was taking it up to his room for a nap. Your log cabin quilt is gorgeous!!

My DGS really loved this quilt and I almost gave it to him until I remembered what 18 year old boys are like and came to my senses. If he shows some good sense in the next few years, then he can have it, I'm taking good care of it for him. It's quilted by my long armer Marie who does a nice panto on whatever I give her. She's 85 and still going strong. She's my hero !
OH!! that is just beautiful. LC's are my favorite I think. I have made four and given all away. I mad a off center one for DH for Christmas of 2012. Again, beautiful quilt, you and DH did great on the layout. Sure hope DGS gets his act together and is able to earn this piece of art, until then enjoy it.
