I live in Northern California there is a town down the road - called Weed, California - you can imagine all the t-shirts and slogans that come out of that one.

There is Tarzan, Posey, Turkey, Buffalo, Texas. I love these funny names. Going thru California many years ago, we used to try to pronounce the Indian names of little towns. One I remember was Temecula. We called it T-muh-kool-a. Another was Protrero.

How about Hazard, Nebraska? I know y'all have heard of the Dukes of Hazzard of Hazzard KY. Even funnier.....that is my maiden name! With one z even.

I live in Three Rivers, MI which is about 8 miles from Colon, MI which is billed as "The Magic Capitol of the World" Every August they have their magic festival with all of the big name magicians from all over the world attending and performing.

one town in maryland is called girdletree. just a tiny town you drive through and don't even realize it is a town. they say that a husband got tired of his wifes girdle she wore so tight she would feel faint. he didn't think she needed it to begin with so he took it and tied it around the tree in the yard. of course they lived on the main road so everyone started calling it girdletree. the ex in laws also lived in a area they called rabbitgnaw, don't know about that one.
