I have used good quality muslin in many quilts & love it. I use it for back ground & backing. It is cheaper for backing and is great for civil war quilts & others.

I tend to do scrappy quilts, and use musin in most for the creams or whites

I use muslin from JoAnn's as the foundation for all of my string quilts. It's held up well through the years. Some I've kept in its natural colour and some I've tea-died.

I use muslin for everything. For years, my Christmas present from my Dad was a bolt of high quality, bleached muslin.

Shhhhh! My pleated living room draperies are muslin. Don't tell anybody. I've been washing, ironing, and rehanging them for maybe going on 20 years.

Nah. They scream when you stick the pins in. Muslin is good though.

If you tea dye does it eventully get lighter?Like back to its original color

I like heavy duty permanent press muslin. The difference is obvious when compared next to regular muslin.

I love muslin...I use it often as I really love "30's quilts and it is great. I buy Kona which is usually about $7.99 a yard. I buy it by the bolt at Joann's when I have a 40% off or 50% off coupon. They have some muslin that is $1.99 a yard but it is very loosely woven and your can see through it...I have never tried it but am pretty sure it would shrink! I use the bleached and unbleached with great success!

I use muslin for the back of my quilts. I like it because it is all one piece with no hems in it. I buy one which is about $8.00 a yard and its pretty fabric. Some of them are very thin, I don't like this. This works out well for me. I have used it on the top for a background on my quilts, like for a scrappy quilt. I use the 120 inch width from JoAnn's Fabric
