Many of the campsites have cable, unless you are dry camping. Also we have a dvd player and take movies with us...just in case Diannia

We just bought a new TT this March. We are going to take a small flat screen with us for the grands to watch. We usually stay in state parks and they don't have WIFI yet. So we will just use DVD and a dvd player. We have seen lots of mini type satellite dishes next to other RVs.

I have direct tv at home. We purchased another box to put in the RV and we purchased a satellite dish from camping world. It is a portable style that automatically finds the satellite. I did not want to spend hours finding the satellite, (did this with the last rv as it had a dish on it already) This rv has a satellite, but it was outdated and very expensive to replace with the new in motion style, so we purchased the portable one, spent about 100.00 more for the automatic. We hook it up and place it on top of the RV ( had a friend who said his grew legs and walked away one night). When we are done, unhook it and we stow it in the basement of the RV. Lots of time, we usually watch digital tv ( free over the airwaves) because we can catch local news and weather.

We have a extra box with Direct TV. It is hooked up in my shop for me to watch when I am working and we take it with us in the RV when we are gone. We have a dish in the RV DH hooks it to. He has a directional finder? to locate the satellite. At home I have a dish permanently mounted on the outside of my shop.

When we were in Alabama camping, they had digital cable TV. Our neighbors did not like the channels so they bought something from Campers World that has a dish. It is not cheap and they pay for the month only. There is no annual fee, if you use it one day, then it's like $60 for the month. We always use our antenna and pull in local channels and we have DVD/VHS players and use movies.

Don't take a TV any more. That's part of the fun of RVing, to get away from the RV and see the world! We do take a radio/CD player, mostly to check on the weather and road conditions.

We used to have a dish, but it was more trouble than it was worth to set up. Now we just use the antenna, dvds, and if there is a wifi connection Netflix.

Direct tv told us to take the receiver out of
The house put into rv on days we are camping

The other satellite co in town said we could not do that

Cable is ok but some campgrounds get about three
Locals channels and no movies
