We celebrate Mother's day the entire week before and end it with lunch at my favorite restaurant called McGrath's.
This has been a tradition as long as my husband and I have been together.
His Father's day gifts are going to be a little late. The IRS has decided to "randomly review" our return this year.
I am making one of his favorite dinners though....pulled pork barbque sandwiches and homemade Cole slaw.

I think single mothers that have raise their children by themselves without the benefit of the father (for whatever reason) should be honored for Mother's and Father's day.

Interesting. At the restaurant after church yesterday, the owner said, "I am so busy today! Much more than Mother's Day.

Maybe we should have just ONE holiday and call it "Parents Day".

Mother's Day, I worked, while my hubby and kids took their grandmother to lunch...Father's day weekend, Saturday, we had a big celebration for my son and his wife who will be having their first baby( my second grandchild) in August.
Sunday...we took hubby and his grandfather, who by the way will be 102 years in September, out to lunch...so Mother's day was a dud, but Father's day weekend was great...

Wow, lots of celebrating for you this past weekend. Even though the baby has not been born yet, it counts, your son is still a father. Wow 101, bless his heart!
