I love this thread and the group. I will have to join up next month with a FQ.

I just started my weight loss journey and have made some major changes to my eating habits in the past week. I still have to create an exercise plan that fits in with my schedule which is kind of hard since I work full time and would rather be sewing in my spare time than exercising. I like to do exercise videos at home and I have a bunch of the Leslie Sansone Walking videos and a few yoga videos. I need to find a good strength training video to round out my exercise routine.

I hope everyone has a lot of success with their weight loss journeys and if I find any interesting information to help I will be sure to post it.

@meanmom, sorry about all that you're going through with your father. My dad was extremely sick last summer. It is so stressful.

@Teddybear Lady, you are inspiring me!! That is awesome. Keep up the good work.

I finally had the nerve to weigh this morning and it wasn't bad. I'm where I was last time I weighed, so even with all the bad I guess I'm doing ok.

I'll get groceries today and have fresh fruit and veges on my list. No junk!! I drank water yesterday and have already had a glass today.

    Have a great day, everyone.

My weekend is going to challenge me! Today is my mom's birthday. She is 79. She wanted a "pizza party" of all things at her house. My youngest brother and family live here in town where I live. He is smoking some meat, so maybe I can eat some of that. My other brother and family are coming in from Georgia. We also have a friend who is going to college in TX who has flown in. She's Victoria the young lady from China that I made a quilt for. As you can see, my mom makes a party out of everything! haha Only problem I have is being around all the food...I want to eat it! I'm going to take plenty of water, my snacks, and try to eat like a sensible person. We'll see how long that lasts with pizza, cake (my daughter-in-law is making) pie (my mom's sister makes a pie called 4 layer delight) and mom asked me to make her recipe of coconut cream pie. I confess, I did lick the spoon earlier when I made it. I'm going to try and remember how good I felt Thursday when I weighed less even in my jeans. Maybe that will be my inspiration for the weekend. We'll see.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

You can't totally deprive yourself of all the goodies. I would suggest taking a large salad for your main meal. Have a small slice of pizza and a small piece of a couple of the desserts that look best to you. Just drink water! So many calories in all those drinks. You'll do fine!

Well, TeddybearLady, hope you have made it through your party without too much wayward eating! I was involved in feeding mission teams through our church. These teams come from other parts of the state to help where it is needed. The local college houses them and different churches throughout the area feed them. We have them for a week at a time. I only volunteered for the breakfast meal, but with that, I was eating way more for breakfast that I would normally eat. We really fed them hearty breakfasts - something different each day and then some left overs on Friday - scrambled eggs with ham, biscuits and sausage gravy, grits every day, bread pudding, egg and sausage casserole, sliced tomatoes with cold cereals or instant oatmeal packets, juices and milks - you name it - each day was a banquet - and they so enjoyed it. The night meal was hearty as well. I told myself I'd watch what I was eating - and I did, I watched myself eat more than I really needed. Well, it's over and I'm back to my house menu - don't have all the temptations here at home. Need to really start checking on the weight numbers again (I didn't weigh at all during last week).

We are on the road again, headed for Salt Lake City. I typically don't do so well away from home but I'm trying hard to make healthy choices....today has been good.

The pizza idea got ditched because my brother wanted to smoke a butt. We had BBQ, baked beans, slaw, deviled eggs, green beans, salad, chips and dip, tea, soda, Coconut cream pie, 4 layer Delight pie, and the birthday cake my DIL made.

I ate a little meat, no bread, a small spoonful of slaw and baked beans, a deviled egg, and a big helping of the salad. I took my bottled water and drank it...and did not let one bite of dessert pass my lips!

I feel so good right now about myself. I practiced self control. I like it when I can make good choices.

You just have to remember you are in charge of what you put in your mouth. Healthy choices are hard sometimes.

My eating is not good lately with running back and forth with my dad. I am afraid of the scale. I will have to face it sooner or later. I have also been missing some of my exercise classes too. I have been eating meals at weird times and eating weird things. Gotta get it under control. I try to bring my own food to my moms when I actually have time to make it. He is getting weaker and weaker. Not sure how he is even hanging on.
I hope to make it to at least 3 spinning classes this week. Maybe a couple of water aerobics classes too. My younger sister gets home from vacation today, but my brother is supposed to leave on a business trip to Mexico tomorrow He is still undecided if he is going or not. A spinning class burns 500 to 600 calories. Not sure about the water aerobics class. I grocery shopped yesterday and bought some healthy food. Hope everyone has a good week.
