Oooh ... so glad I came back to this thread to see the updated photo's. Very pretty quilt. I've always liked that pattern. Love your color choice and the quilting is spot on!

Dear Ninnie,

I am so glad you shared this quilt with us. Am always looking for patterns for a Revolutionary War quilt for my son, and the Burgoyne Surround is the only one I have found that has a history from that war. Yours is lovely and I have always wanted to make a blue and white quilt. Have been saving so many blues for such a project. Still haven't picked a pattern but have seen some lovely ones here on the QB. Would love to make a paper pieced Pineapple pattern quilt. Would be quite a project I think. Again, thanks for sharing.

thank yo Kisty, and, i too love to paper piece. This was a step away from my usual more scrappy patterns, but i love the feel of the 2 color quilt now, and there r lots of older patterns out there from the same period. Am looking forward to seeing which one u choose for your son. I am in the process now of making my son another Storm At Sea
good luck with which ever pattern you choose.

awe ty so much, i love the traditional patterns, always amazes me how long ago quilters came up with the patterns and did such beautiful work, not having any of the tools we have today. with rotary cutter was easy to cut out all those pieces lol do not think i would have attempted it with just a pair of scissors.

Congratulations on a job well done and praises well earned! I have too also just finished piecing a scrappy Burgoyne surround after being inspired by the blue and white one previously posted here. What a labor of love and time invested in making this type of quilt! You did an amazing job and I can't wait to sandwich and FMQ the one I have made for a wedding present!
