Read this almost a month after it was started--fun to read.

I grew up on the South Plains of West Texas, near the Panhandle. My parents are from Muleshoe, Texas, where we lived when I was born (in Littlefield, Texas). I've lived in Plainview, Texas twice and driving from Plainview to Muleshoe you go through Halfway, Texas and then Earth, Texas. Hale Center, Texas is just south of there.

We used to live near Hog Eye, AR. I drive through No Name, Rifle, Silt, Gypsum, & Parachute, CO to go to Denver. Train conductors used to pronounce Telluride, CO as to-hell-u-ride.

No one mentioned: NEEDLES, CA! and I thought we were all quilters! LOL

One of my favorites: Dummer, NH (pronounced just as it's spelled). My DH once told my son that we were moving to Dummer and he wouldn't have to go to school any more, because that's how the town got it's name. I know, bash me now, this is so not PC! I've actually been to Dummer many times (on the way through Berlin, Milan and Errol to Pittsburgh, NH) and the folks up there are wonderful! Love the area where they live and no, they are not "dumb" at all. Hard working, nice people.

Let's see...where else?

Manhattan, KS (I'm sure it is much, much smaller than Manhattan, NY..aka New York City)
Cripple Corner, CO
Derby, CT
Honeypot Glen, CT
Bibb City, GA

Hometown, IL

I graduated from Clever High School in Clever, MO, so I was a clever student! I've always said it was better than graduating from Peculiar High School!

Here in Michigan we have Climax and Hell. In Indiana there is French Lick. What were they thinking? More innocent times, I reckon.
