When my 3 DGD's were at the right age, I made them long Victorian nightgowns and made their AG dolls matching gowns. I have a treasured picture of them holding their dolls and sitting on the stairs.

Thanks for starting this thread. A few years ago, when my only granddaughter was 9, she wanted an AG doll. My daughter refused, stating that she was too old for such an expensive doll. I asked her if I could get her one if I found a cheaper one. Daughter agreed. I found a nearly new one on Craigslist, then started making clothes. My DGD was thrilled on Christmas. My plan was to make clothes, and eventually teach my granddaughter to sew. The teaching to sew is slow going, because she is more interested in her ipod games, and has such a short attention span. However, word spread, and I have sewn many clothes for her friends, and for awhile, they were the most requested birthday party gift. Saved my daughter lots of money! I have given many away for charity functions. Will try to post some pics of some of the things I have made, when I can figure out what is wrong with my camera.

I love the Morissey doll clothes patterns. They are pricey, but if you use the pattern enough times, the cost is worth it. They are much different than other patters I have found. Google Morrissey.com

Thanks for sharing. I am about to jump into making American Girl doll clothes for my granddaughter and great niece. Patterns and fabric have been purchased and I am ready to proceed! The AG clothes are really expensive to purchase.

I just "had" to jump in on this and was thrilled to see there's other "gals" in love with these 18-in sweethearts. I'm moderator of a Yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SGOTs_...GirlDollGroup/ We're a group that shares ideas, patterns, wishes and anything and everything about the AGD. We also have monthly sew-alongs to motivate us. Please take a moment and stop by, we'd love to have you come and "play".
