Default Upcycled denim MS awareness rag quilt

This quilt is made with 2 layers of denim (I won't be doing that again... very hard to clip through 4 layers of denim) and is very special to me because it is made entirely from my Aunt's old jeans. The awareness blocks can be done in any color.

It really is beautiful. Also an awful lot of hard work. I'll bet your hands were worn out.

You can be proud that you not only up-cycled but made a wonderful memory quilt from your Aunt's jeans.

Very nicely done. The embroidery makes it extra special.

I make rugs from 2 layers of denim--I call them my back door rugs as they work great in my farm mud room. Yes it's hard on the hands. Last time I was lazy and washed the rug--when I pulled it out of the washer I had an aha moment. Hair is weaker when wet--what about denim? Before putting it into the dryer I clipped the edges-yes yes yes alot easier on the hands. Give it a try next time.

OBTW--a nice way to remember a special person. Thanks for sharing.

REally REally nice! yeah! I've got a whole lot of denim from my husband's jeans. Want his take on what to do with them. I told him to go to all the sites, I have in my favorites when he's bored. he looks at me like I have 5 eyes. LOL! yours is a lovely quilt!

Great work. I made a memory quilt for my niece using her late husband's jeans and then his work shirts for the back.
