Had a mouse get in my mattress a few years ago. It was awful - I felt it wiggling around in there during the night!! My outdoor cat became in indoor kitty very soon. He tried but couldn't get it - after all it was inside the mattress. Got a new mattress

My two are also as useless. They leave their PLAY mice in my bed on my pillow. I'd not do well if they left a real live or even dead mouse on my pillow! They don't even kill bugs, they just play. Cute picture, I have a big smile right now.

Lovely picture, too cute!!! But looking at your cats, I don't think they're in any need of food.... so that's maybe the reason they're not interested in the food chain called "mice"!!!!
By the way, I find camphor blocks good to keep mice out of my fabric and they don't smell quite as bad as moth balls. We have a mice problem too at certain times of the year, although we just haven't found out where they're coming in. The other day I had one running across my desk and she sat there, under the light, near my computer screen just looking at me....

Great Pic. I know the feeling. In Florida we have palmetto bugs that occasionally get in the house no matter what you do. My cats are "kind" enough to bring lizards in but they never take the palmettos out! They just look at me and say "get that out of here."

Years ago I had a problem really badly with field mice; especially when it rained. I got so tired of fighting the battle I went on a hunt for a cat. I didn't want a kitten and not have it trained so I got an older one. I've rarely seen a mouse in yrs.
As a side note:
Cats do not eat mice, just as mice don't normally eat cheese, they love peanut butter though. But as they use them as their play toys the end up dead. I had an old black cat when I lived in Hawaii and every Christmas morning I'd have a mouse laying outside of my lani (patio) door. I guess it was her present to me. She was about 8 when I got her and then I gave her away when I moved because I didn't want her to have to endure a different client when we were transferred to the mainland. My cat now, a calico that I got when she was 5 and she's now about 12 loves the chase. I can always tell if a mouse was brave (or dumb) enough to make it into the house because she'll set on the counter and wait until it comes out. Its the only time she gets on the counter but she never touches the food. She also does this when a water bug makes its way in; nothing crawling makes it way back out.
