So sorry for your loss, lb. I am happy that you found rest in God, and life goes on.

Sorry you are feeling depressed and not sewing, I get sad too when I can't sew because my hands are so bad and I can't sit for long because of spinal problems --- but just going through my books and fabrics help, plus looking here on the forum, what a great bunch of people, always something to learn, even for oldies like me. Plus there is always a giggle or two to brighten the day.Hope you will soon be back on form,Love Lettyx

When I'm blue, I read, quilt or scrapbook. Always makes me feel better!

I have been so depressed for weeks that I could just cry. Finally sat down at the machine and started a new project, got to touch lots of pretty fabric and make a few pretty blocks. Now I am alllllllllllllllll better. No better therapy than to quilt and forget what ails you

I sew whenever I can fit the time in from taping and working in the TV studio. When I am blue, yep..........straight to the sewing machine I go

Sometimes when I am having trouble sleeping, I will go to my sewing room and sew. It is much better than tossing around in bed and waking DH.

I started reading all the posts and decided to add my comment at page 3. I think most of us have found that "something" in fabric, that allows our mind to unclench, to smooth out, and to calm. Whether we are mindlessly piecing on a project, creating a new pattern, painting with thread or allowing our feelings to dictate which piece of fabric we add to that crazy quilt, our passion keeps us sane.

Maybe someday a newspaper headline will say: "She went quilty and warmed a family" instead of "going postal."
