At the moment the kitties are laying on Franky on the living room floor. I tested my binding strips last night and Samantha and Dainty appeared out of nowhere.

Franky also has arm and leg definition now. You should be able to see it despite Dainty refusing to move.

    Yessssssssss!!!
Japanese Franky is going to steal the show this year for your Halloween display!

I still reeeeeeeeeeally like your red/wine web sashing fabric
... looks so rich with the shadings in it.
And soon all bound and then let the adornment begin!
I'm sure you have some surprises coming in the embellishment department!

    Congratulations!

Thank you. I'm happy with how he's coming along. And, yes, there will be a lot of fun embellishment.

And that I am anxious to see ... I have visions of some sparkly stuff ... some furry stuff (spiders!) and some fibrey stuff (cobwebs). Plus, I know there will be some surprises, probably hidden and hard to find.

Oh yes ... I think Dainty and Sammi should get an place of honour in there too!

Love the characters I have never paper pieced so I'm not sure what I would do. For right now I am going to admire your work and continue to work on other projects I am so behind on. I really like the idea, tickles me. Ill keep talking to myself and MAYBE ill change my mind.

QuiltE - I don't think there will be as much embellishment as you are expecting. Spiders, yes. Furry, no.

Raine54RN - paper piecing is not required. Franky is not paper pieced. He is made up of a LOT of 1" finished squares. Any method you choose would work as long as a character is front and centre. I hope you will find time to join us.

Here is Franky's back with hanging sleeve. I had a black fabric in mind for the sleeve but I had used it in one block of the quilt top so wouldn't use it again.

I plan to do some embellishing this weekend as well as the label.

Love the backing! .... makes you almost want to leave a corner turned up to be able to see it!

What size has Franky finished at?

And once done, you will be close enough to the season, that he can go straight to the wall, and you can enjoy him for longer that way!
