We had an albino here last fall, and I was fortunate enough to see him, barely, early one morning. He was with a normal colored one and it was misty and they were in a corner of a fenced area and I couldn't get a straight-on shot of him, but did get one that was blurry. All of us in this area were glad to see that he had survived the winter, but no one has seen him since.

Interesting .. never knew this information .. Passed it onto the mighty hunter so he can be informed also ! Thanks for sharing !! Very pretty animal for sure, wonder what the life expectancy for this animal is ... Hmmm.. Or if they have more genetic problems in life .. things that make one go hmmm...

Many years ago we used see one at Norris Dam Park in Tenn. We were frequent visitors at the time and always looked for it. Very unusual sight and we were glad it was in a protected area--no hunting allowed.

We have a large population of white deer here in Upstate New York...it is a treat to go look at them. They are not Albino, just white. There are theories about how they got there and managed to have such a large population, but I don't think anyone really knows. Here are some pics of them...

Piebalds also come in dogs, and other animals, with no genetic defects. I raised Piebald Dachshunds for years. They are all beautiful.
