Pre-printed whole cloth quilt on Long arm

Do you stablize the quilt top by stitching all sides down and then start quilting from the center out. It is the Garden Bouquet and the larges area is the center. There is alot of line work also.

That is a GORGEOUS quilt design. It's by Holice Turnbow. Holice is a member of this board, so you could send him a pm asking for advice. I haven't done anything like that on my longarm so any specific advice would be practically worthless, but I do think that the entire design should be stabilized before you start with the intricate quilting. Once it's well stabilized I don't think you have to start in the center. I would do more stabilizing than just stitching all sides down. I would also quilt the "bones" of the design before the detailed work. Please post your results. I want to do a project like this someday and would like to know how to proceed. I did do a cheater cloth, kind of like whole cloth but not - it's here - http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...d-t214440.html

Several years ago my daughter bought me a pre-printed whole clothe quilt top ( unbleached muslin ) I never got around to hand quilting it. when my neice bought a LA I sent it to her, and it turned out beautiful!! No seams of course so not a heavy quilt, I use it in the summer time.

PaperPrincess how do you propose to do the DWR? I have a cheater cloth of the double wedding ring and can't decide how to do it or what pattern to use. I am new to longarm quilting and do not have a machine, but do have access to one on occasion. I have not done anything with the cheater cloth as I can't decide what pattern to do on it, so any suggestions would be most welcome. You my reply to me privately if you wish. Thanks Themachinelady
